Camden Bag

Learn to create this fun bag just in time for summer gatherings! Students must know basic sewing machine skills.

The Aunties Two Camden Bag Pattern:

• Has beautiful Zigzag stitching with no shaping required
• Is made simply from a rectangle for the sides and an oval for the bottom
• Comes in two sizes, small 13x 9x 9 or large 18x 16x 12
• Uses double-sided fusible batting to make this project quick to form into the tubes that get sewn together

• Sewing machine with zig zag feature (must be able to sew through thick materials)
• Camden Bag Pattern
• Duet Fuse 2.5 x 25 on a roll
• Small precut Bag Bottom/Bosal
• Plastic Tubing (handle)
• Stiff interfacing (handle)
• 1 Jelly Roll
• 3 FQ coordinating fabrics (2 for the bag bottom and 1 for the handle and binding which will be cut on the bias)
• 40 or 50 wt thread
• Heavy Cotton Thread for hand sewing/12 wt or you can double up 40/50 wt thread. Make sure it matches your fabrics
• Sewing Needle (Milliners #7 or larger)
• Heavy duty jeans needles
• Parchment Paper
• Long pins
• Binding clips
• Ruler
• Seam Ripper
• Iron
• Iron Cleaner
• Scissors
• Silicone finger protectors (OPTIONAL)
• Silicone or any kind of pressing sheet (OPTIONAL)
• Big wooden buttons (OPTIONAL)
