Kid's Summer Camp: Make & Take Projects

This beginner-friendly 5-day camp is designed for kids ages 8-12 who are comfortable using the sewing machine, but would like to continue to build foundational skills.

Campers will learn basic stitches, and complete fun, practical projects like reading pillows, tote bags, and mug rugs. With a focus on creativity and confidence, this camp provides a relaxed and encouraging space where kids can discover the joy of making something with their own hands.

Supplies Needed

Acrylic ruler
Scissors
Sewing machine
Bobbin
Thread
Fabric marking pen or pencil
Sewing pins
Pin cushion
Seam ripper

Materials Needed:

Day 1

Pillowcase standard size

Fabric required

2/3 yard for body of pillowcase 44-45 wide

1/3 yard coordinating cuff piece 44-45 wide

Day 2

Snack Mat 8 x10

Fabric required

1 fat quarter for backing

10 x 10 piece of Batting

Misc fabric pieces for log cabin block

Day 3

Tote Bag 12 by 13

Fabric required

½ yard of cotton fabric for the bag exterior

½ yard of cotton fabric for the bag lining

Day 4

Fabric Tray 12 by 12

Fabric required

1 fat quarter for bottom

1 fat quarter for inside

1 14 by 14 piece of batting

Day 5

Personalized Quilted Placemat

1/2 yard cotton fabric
1/2 yard cotton battting

Note* A minimum of 2 students is required for this class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund or you can be rescheduled to a later class.
