Intro To Fashion Sewing 101: Garment Construction Basics
This is a 6 hr, 2-day class for individuals wanting to learn to sew clothing. NO PREVIOUS SEWING EXPERIENCE NECESSARY
Each class is 3 hours long, and students will learn:

- How to thread their machine and wind the bobbin
- How to sew in a straight line
- All about garment tools and notions
- All about fabric

- Wovens

- Interfacing
- Special Occasion Fabric
- Basic Order of Operations
- Staystitching

- Facings
- Sewing convex and concave curves
- Basic Types of Closures
- Buttons
- Zippers
- Invisible
- Centered
Class Project: Students will sew a basic beginner-friendly pair of pajama pants.
Note* A minimum of 2 students is required for this class to meet. If a class is cancelled due to low enrollment, you will receive a full refund or you can be rescheduled to a later class.

| Instructor Bio: | Mia Green serves as the Director of Education at Hoops & Needles, bringing years of experience in teaching the art of sewing to both adults and children through dynamic in-person and online classes. She has partnered with cities across Texas to lead engaging summer sewing programs and fashion camps for youth, as well as professional development and team-building workshops for adults. Now as part of the Hoops & Needles team, Mia is excited to offer her expertise in garment sewing to customers through a variety of in-person and virtual class experiences. |
